My 1st food blog - Jane Eats!

Monday, April 23rd, 2007

As a singaporean living here for 26 years, i conclude that there is nothing as fun as eating & queuing up for good & economic food. My uncle(who used to be a singaporean) came back to SG for a short holiday and when he asked me what is fun to do here, i said "Nothing… prob the thrill to find good food to eat."

I must say that eating is like a routine to me, i am one that eats-to-live but for some, they live-to-eat. However, thru time, i begin to enjoy eating good food because my company of friends have high standard of taste if u know what i mean. So here we go, my first food blog…. (Btw, i will recommend 1 food stall every week for those of you who are interested)

MY 1ST RECOMMENDATION - MUFFINS & CAKES

For me, i started liking to eat muffins when my sis was working for coffee bean. Ehm… yeah, is weird. She would bring home tons of leftover muffins unsold and i was able to taste all kinds of muffins. Thank God for sisters who worked at coffee bean.. Ehm… anyhow.. thats when i started to like them. First of all, i don’t just eat any kind of muffins. I like american-cafe-big-real fruit muffins, none of that bakery who bakes artificial coloured muffins.

Look at this and you know it is good stuff. Reading from other websites, this stall owner used to be a hotel chef decided to have a stall in the hawker centre so that everyone can eat nice muffins in cheap prices. Awh… so nice of her. Besides the muffins, you should buy their cheesecake which is the best cheese cakes i have ever eaten. So look no further, those of you who lives north-eastern of singapore and loves muffins like i do, do head down here.

Whats the rush??

Tuesday, April 17th, 2007

Yes, i am back. You must be wondering why am i so lazy, never blog anything last week. Well, the truth is that i was busy mugging for my exam & i must admit, i struggled to get the information in my head. I wonder if one’s brain does strink as we get older or is it just me?? (Think is just me)

My thought of the day: Why do people give up so easily??

My guess is that living in an environment and century today where everything seems to be going so fast that some of us are too slow to catch up. We buy cars that are able to drive faster, buy computer that have bigger ram so that it runs faster, faster broadband, even food that we eat needs to be either fast food or else we will complain that it is too slow.

The problem is that we no longer know how to function when we don’t get the things as fast as we want to. We just simply give up. I think that many regret because they didn’t slow things down to think through but instead choose to be impatient. Results, i want results, good results and i want it NOW! Sometimes, i just can’t stand it. Lighten up, pls. So what if you don’t get things done NOW.. it is not end of the world. It becomes worse when you keep throwing impatience to those around you, make them suffer from heart-attack and discomfort.

Even in areas when we tend to give up on people esp when they don’t function the way we want them to, think that they are hopeless and cannot be helped forever. Sometimes, people just need time to change, understanding and acceptance from the general crowd. Imagine yourself being given up by people, no one believed in you and thinks you are hopeless. Definately not easy to swallow.

Guess all i want to say is that we must learn to take things slow sometimes and learn to be patient esp towards people. You can choose to either make or break the person. What is the rush???

Is that a question/compliment/insult?? (Part 3)

Sunday, April 1st, 2007

Last saturday, i went to this video store to rent some VCDs. As this was my 1st time there, i was unfamiliar with the rental terms there so here is what happened.

Store lady: "Is this your 1st time renting here?"

Me: "Yes, 1st time"

Store lady: "But you have to be 21 years old to be able to rent here"

(-_-)   (*_*)   (-_-)    (*_*)   (-_-)

Me: "Excuse me, but i am already 26 years old"

Store lady: "IC pls…"

Ok, maybe it was my fault to wear a tee that is cute that day but still, it doesn’t justify the fact that i don’t look like someone who is above 21. Come mon!! How old am i then? 16 or 18? Even then, i was not renting porno or anything… it was only some HK drama seriel, why must it be 21 to be able to rent? Video Ezy doesn’t even have such strict requirements.

As such, is that a question/compliment/insult?

Answer: Insult (AR……………………………………………….gh!!
