Has God forgotten abt u??

Wednesday, June 28th, 2006

Did you ever encounter this, as you are driving or sitting in a car with a speed of 80km(which is relatively fast) and there comes a Ferrari passing you like a speed of lighting, like the hare & the tortoise running in the race. Truth is many a times, many things in our life are passing us by, we see those around us being promoted way before us even though we started out first. They are flying so high in everything that they do but you wonder how come you are still stuck on the ground level.

Has God forgotten about you?? You must have thought to yourself. Where are the promises that You promised? Why do i seem to be going nowhere? Why do i feel miserable for people i should be happy for? Many negative thoughts comes to mind nevertheless, struggles that you cannot get out of & unhappiness from within that seems to be getting out of hand.

Then i imagined how did Jesus felt when He waited for 30 years before He began His ministry. He knew He was the Son of God, He knew the reason of His existance but His time has not yet come. Then He saw John, His cousin passed Him by, have a great ministry of water baptism & great disciples helping him but Jesus remained faithful as a carpenter & His family knowing that His time has not come. He was secure in Himself because He choosed to be lead under God’s timing. He could have started His ministry earlier if He wanted to but He didn’t.

Worst of all, He was lead into the desert(Wilderness) 1st before stepping into His destiny. Desert… can you imagine??? You will be sweaty, tired, dehydrated, feel like u going nowhere esp when you are fasting in the desert… Then nobody else you can find in the desert except the irritating devil who trys to plant evil thoughts into your head all day long. Drags… Bad things do happen to good people.

Word of encouragement: God will remember!!  He doesn’t have short-term memory loss… His promises are Yes and Amen, His words won’t never return to Him void. There is nothing wrong with the Promise, it is all about timing.

Jn 2:4 "Jesus said "My time has not come yet"……

So don’t be dishearten today. God will remember you.

World Cup Fever!

Tuesday, June 20th, 2006

As you all should have already known, June 2006 is a season for world cup. Last sunday night, i happen to watch this match between Brazil vs Australia and man i tell you, what a boring 1st half… (I suspect Ronaldo is losing it) then i gave up watching the 2nd half and chose rather to go to sleep. (Which later i regret cos the score sheet ended up to be 2-0)

Is funny what world cup can do to you, there will be times when you feel excited then the next moment frustrated if your team lost that match, disappointment and hopefully won’t lead you to depression. I watch on the news one day that someone was actually shot dead because he was just making too much noise while watching world cup.. (-_-*) However, world cup does bring people closer together too… you will meet people who share the same passion of your favorite team, come together in cafes and even kopitiams to scream when there is a goal or just something to talk about even when it is just some stranger. Perherps i shall come out with the top 10 things you can see during the world cup season… indeed i shall….

TOP 10 THINGS YOU MIGHT SEE DURING THE WORLD CUP SEASON:-

10. Jersey trend of clothing. I do see more Holland, Brazil, Germany & Argentina jerseys though.

9. More beer commercials……. (Sheesh)

8. More women on the streets. Apparently, most men are hibernating at home, ordering pizza/McDonald’s home delivery.

7. Long queue at Clinics.

6. Long queue at betting centres.

5. Being awoken by sudden screams of ‘GOA……L!!!!" in the middle of the night.

4. Grouchy men/women who are either too tired to talk or too depressed/angry to do anything.

3. Overcrowding situation at Kopitiams which provide big screen TV and coverage.

2. Pandas. (IF you know what i mean)

1. People losing their trust & belief in Ronaldo. What happened to him???

What is the point of waiting??

Wednesday, June 14th, 2006

If you are like a person like me, i don’t like waiting esp waiting for people who don’t turns up on time, traffic jams or even waiting to get into toilet. Don’t know why, maybe is built in me to be time-conscious or maybe i just like to get things over and done with so that i can move on to something else. Pst Kong once said that time is our life, when we waste time, we are wasting our life away. (Thats when he preached on punctuality.. not wasting other people’s time & affecting their schedules, something i kept close to my heart & still convicted to do)

It sometimes burns my brain cells to understand why there are so many steps to go through to reach the destination & goal you want to achieve in life. When you have so many steps to go through, it takes energy and time out of you & then you wonder in the midst of it why you got started in the 1st place and want to give up. I wish that sometimes it will be like a meal in McDonalds, you get what you want & most of all you get it FAST!

I feel that most people are like me, thats why people keep inventing stuff that makes one work fast. Imagine we are still stuck at Pentinum 1 in our computers or 900cc engine or no inventing of MRT, everything will just be moving sl….o…..w………l………..y

However, God is not at all time conscious cos to Him, a day in the heavens is like a 1000 days in the world. Thats why He made Abraham wait 25 years before he got a son, Moses in the wilderness before he was called to lead the children of Israel out of Egypt & even Jesus 30 years before he started His ministry. Guess there will not be any exceptions for me too, so i think i just wait but before that, i shall write a top 10 on what i think God makes us wait.

TOP 10 POINTS OF WAITING:-

10. Cos you need to wait for your turn because everyone else before you came 1st.

9. Test ones’ patience. Grrr….

8. Test on endurance too… Argh!

7. Cos something better is coming.

6. Might be punishment… who knows? Did something wrong at Step 2 then have to go back to step 1.

5. To see if he trust in Him.

4. To train us to be a stronger person.

3. He wants us to seek Him more so that He can speak a word of encouragement into our lives.

2. We are not ready to receive the promises in our life as yet.

1. Because He says so…

Learning Contentment

Monday, June 12th, 2006

Yesterday, i went to purchase the latest ‘GAIN’ album by SUN. I must say that she has grown from glory to glory and i don’t care what the media or other people say, SHE ROCKS!!

As i was watching the DVD(Together with the CD purchase), there was an interview section of the making of her ‘loneliness’ MTV. (I tell you, even short interviews like that are also quite impactful) Milk was sharing how he was blessed by SUN’s advice to him on this word called contentment. Many a times, we hold thoughts in our mind, such as jealously, injustification, bitterness etc but if we learn to let things go and learn to feel contend about what we have and not we dont have, we live life happier. Nobody knows what happens tomr and where the direction of our lives will be heading. Be free!!

Living in the moment and cherish those or things around you because as much as we want to, people or things won’t be with us forever. As i was listening to the interview, i decided to be contended with the things in my life. Of course there are still many things i want in life but i believe that everything that i have belongs and is given by God. So learn contentment today. (Adopted from SUN)

Dealing with changes in life

Sunday, June 11th, 2006

Last Friday, i had to see my good friend off to the airport as she will be overseas to work for a while. It was a promotion due and though sad to see her go, i still feel very happy for her and that not many are given the opportunity like that. Sudden news it may be to me but in His kingdom, there are always changes. I have learnt through out the years being a christian, God is not just contended with consistancy but constantly make changes in our lives so that we be in the place of unfamiliarity, a place definately NOT comfortable. If you are like me, you will be crushed and broken at the same time, but at the end of the day, i look to Him.

The truth is nobody likes change esp in the beginning however, i do believe it is just making a decision to accept facts and move on in life. Imagine that we are still listening to music that sounded like they were in the 70s. You will be so bored by it cos is the same music being played over 30 over years. When we start to listen to new songs, we may feel uncomfortable in the beginning but if we are open in our hearts, we can learn to accept them & prob enjoy it along the way.

Abraham was 75 years old before God told him to make changes and set out into Canaan. 75 years of being at the same place, a place of comfortable & familiarity, i must say it takes faith to just move away like that. Imagine saving $100,000 for 10 years but have to give it all away. It just kills us in our minds.

But Abraham trusted God.

He ended up to have many more possessions that what he had when he was in Ur. Like what Pst Kong always says… God is into personal development, He will never leave us in the same place for long but always challenge us to move up & do greater things for Him. Thank you Jesus.

A Love Affair Between God & His Church

Tuesday, June 6th, 2006

Last week was a tremendous time for the youths in our church as we had our annual ‘EMERGE’ conference and i must say that we have grown from glory to glory. Never have anyone expected it would be as great as this year. Taufik and 2 of the superstar finalist actually came for this conference but most importantly, SUN was there also… i mean… it was mind blowing, totally amazing. I think CHC is the only church who invites non-christian artistes to perform for us. Totally awesome.

However, more than just the programs & the activities, i saw the love between God & His people esp Pst Kong & his followers from his youth. The same passion that they had 17 years ago is still burning & even more brighter than it was. Though they have been older since then but their love for God never cease and thats why their love could contain more people in the church. What a great spirit it is!!! To be loving God even more each year when others grow cold as they get older in Christ. However, loving is a choice & we must make a choice to love God more everyday.

In conclusion, the love affair between God and us will never be understood by the people of the world. It will never lead to divorce or separation but it will be everlasting. What i caught from Emerge was the Pst Kong’s love for God, can’t really measure it but u know in your spirit that it is huge! Let’s challenge ourselves to love God more each year & lets pass on this spirit to the next generation of youth.
