God’s glory is ONLY shined thru us!

Wednesday, May 31st, 2006

"Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth. And His disciples asked Him, saying, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?" Jesus answered," Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him" (Mat 9:1-3)

As i was reading this part of the Bible yesterday, this verse became alive in me & i felt the Holy Spirit telling me from this sentence "BLIND from birth"… Now replace the word Blind with words such as poor, lame, unwanted, insecure, messed up, Big Nose, Ache faced etc… and you will know that many of us are not born perfect.

However, felt that God is encouraging me thru this verse, though we may not have the perfect ground to grow in, but like Pst Tan said, we are seeds made out of the best quality. No matter which ground we fall on, we have the ability to make the best of with what we have and still shine for God. God wants to work thru us and thru our situations so that His glory can be seen by all men. So you can forget about those thoughts when u feel injustifed or you feeling than others are better than you. The truth is that your moment with God has not come. Delay is never denial. The man was blind from birth (He could be a old man, who knows how many years he waited) but one day, he met with Jesus & his life was never the same again. So don’t think that it is your fault or your parents fault that you are born with imperfects. God is setting us up for a miracle and that His glory will shine ever brighter. Praise God.

Smile a greeting

Smiles

Wah… Friendster have been making a lot of nice changes sia… i like changes, always something new to see.

Meanwhile, i thought i can write something useful today cos i have been doing a little experiment that i have been trying out for the past few weeks and it seemed useful so thought i share it on the blog.

The experiment is to smile as a greeting esp to people that you don’t know, like people tat you buy food from or you need services from. They may not be smiling before but once you smile at them before u even speak a word to them, the person is more likely to be open to you and is more than ready to help u in whatever you need. Even those days i didn’t feel like smiling, i still smiled at people and the same effects goes for them as it is for me. It made us happier.

Survey shows that 90% of all respondents agreed if more people smiled, the world would be a better place; 87% believed that smiling makes people feel good about themselves; 95% of surveyed respondents agreed smiling makes a better and more productive workplace; 93% of people usually smile back when someone smiles at them;

When you smile it activates and releases good feelings to the brain. The brain and emotional body emits this energy into the ether and creates feel good vibes. These feel good vibes are fragments of emotional energy, small particles of energy

So smile to someone today… you never know who effects it might bring to you… :)

“And i…..surrender all to You…”

Back to blog again after i just recovered from a bad episode of food poisoning. Sometimes, you can’t always trust on food that you eat outside cos sometimes food is not processed properly by inconsiderate chefs, may lead you to days of misery of having ur stomach stucked to your throat, loss of appetite and the opportunity to be bedridden.

Good thing is that i managed to lose 2 kg in 2 days! Sounds better than those ads put out by those slimming centres huh?? Haha… anyway, i am now slowly trying to get back my appetite. Thanks to those who showed concern towards me, i feel very appreciated.

Last Sunday as we sung the song by CCC, anointed song it is.. when we sung of that part..

When i’m weak, you are strong

You’re my feet when i can’t go on

You’re the light in the dark

You’re the whisper inside my heart..

This part of the song reminded me of those days when i was sick, that God was with me. God is always a good comforter to those who are discouraged, a good encourager when one is down and always there to be found esp when you need help. Everyone of us has struggles in our hearts and when we find that we no longer have the strength to carry on, God is there to break us and tell us that we can’t do this on our own but to surrender it all to Him. So surrender all to Him if you feel that u can’t move on, nothing is impossible for God.

My Parent’s 30th Wedding anniversary

Monday, May 15th, 2006

30 years of 9th May, there in Shangri-la was my parents, with tables filled with people celebrating this joyous occasion with this lovely couple. I must admit that holding your wedding dinner at Shangri-La 30 years ago was a big thing & prob is expensive then or even now. However, i think my dad made something out of himself and is very qualified to hold such a great wedding.

Think being together with the same person over 30 years is not an easy thing. Some marriages i see now often end in divorce in less than 10 years, some even 5. I feel that couples give up too easily on each other and only want to find the quickest solution out of the marriage rather than solving the problems together. Seeing my parents for as long as i live, i know that there were times when they fought but there were also times when my dad was facing some difficulties in business but mum did’t give up on him or the marriage but ride the storms with him. I feel that sometimes people take the marriage vow to lightly, and not being abiding in the vow.

My parents may not be christians(yet) but they know the importantance of the vow they did for each other 30 years ago. Though they might not say to each other often but through actions, i can tell they still love each other. Love is not a feeling or emotion but a choice. We choose to love each other on a daily basis. This is what i call… Romantic… ahhhh…

This week is a big week for me and my family.. cos we will be moving into our new place again for the 5th time. Believe me or not, since my birth, i have been moving from place to place but each time, we get to move into something slightly bigger than the previous home. Praise the Lord. However, like most people, i don’t enjoy the act or anything that has to do with moving. Most of my friends have been staying in the same home since they were born, with tons of stuff left behind such as childhood memories. Me?? i had to throw most of my childhood stuff away because we have to make space for new stuff or the fact that they were considered rubbish and had to be thrown away… sob sob.

Meanwhile, i am stuck with the 2 burdens in my heart. 1st is the huge pile of stuff i have been accummulating for the past 2 years staying at my current home which i swear to God that i have been always throwing away stuff that are not being used. It seems as though the rubbish has multiplied by itself. Funny. 2nd burden is the hole in my pocket that i have to burn for getting new furniture for my room. Moreover, i have to deal with the fact that this month is mother’s day and my dad’s b-day… Thats one large hole that i will not be mending for a long time.

Beyond on these, i have to say that i am excited about my new place. It is the best place i have stayed so far and thats how i motivate myself when i feel tired from all the packing. (Thinking about it makes me feel demoralised sia) however, for all you people who is thinking or is moving, there are some advice…

TOP 10 ADVICE ON MOVING HOUSE:-

10. Don’t be too overly emotional/sentimental about stuff, when it has to go, u got to let it go, including the boaster u have been holding on since u were 5 years old.

9. Buy new furniture if you have to esp when springs are popping out of ur mattress and sofa.

8. Take a few days off just to move.. 长痛不如短痛 you don’t want to be like me, shifting for a week and everyday is like never ending.

7. Re-using boxes as you don’t want to accummulate too much boxes in the house at the end of the day.

6. If you have close buddies and friends, get them to help… i mean thats what friends are for right?? What?? thats not what friends are for??

5.One word: Decoration

4. Another word: Cleaning

3. Pray for strength and the spirit of domestic to be upon you…

2. (Space) - for your advice or comment… Write on the comments area.

1. Try not to move more than twice in your lifetime.. it aint easy and is not fun.

The continuous war between Good and evil

Wednesday, May 3rd, 2006

Yesterday at bible study, i studied about the rebellion of Lucifer and many things that we do that will affect the atmosphere in our environment. Actually, rebellion can be a very scary thing, living a life totally independant of God and despising the authority of God over our lives.

Truth is, if you are alive here today, there will always be challenges and difficulties in your life. Everyday, we make choices whether to do good or do something else. Bible says when God allowed Satan to strip Job off all his possessions and children, Job did not sin with his lips but it didn’t say that he didn’t struggle in his mind. Imagine you lost all your money and everything u have in one day, you have sickness over all your body leaving nothing but just your life… i won’t believe that funny thoughts will not go through ur mind. However, i believed that Job made a choice not to curse God, he made a decision to praise & worship God, he made a choice that lead him closer to God.

Pst also talked about how we creat the atmosphere in our lives. If we usually watch horror movies, we are creating an environment of fear and that will attract the spirit of fear in our lives or if you always listen to depressing… people-falling-out-of-love songs, then you are attracting the spirit of depression in your lives. Bible says that faith comes by hearing but the opposite of faith is fear, which also comes from hearing. So what you hear is very important. It can either bring you faith or fear. So, filter or do selective-hearing in your life.

Another revelation that i had was knowing that Satan has 6,000 years of experience in dealing with people. 6,000 years!! Man, that is alot of experience!!He is totally qualified and prob has a degree on dealing with people.. He may even have a handbook teaching the other devils under him to torture people. So when God told Satan to deal with Job but spare his life, Satan knew the ways torture him to his limit but not break him. He walks through and fro the earth, observing our behaviours, study them. Therefore, we must guard our hearts because it is the purpose of Satan for us to curse God. Therefore, do not let the devil have any chance to tempt us, make us rebell and curse God.

If you are facing a tough situation in your life right now, just want to encourage you to trust God. Job didn’t understand the plights that happened in his life even though he is a righteous man in the sight of God. However, having struggles in our thoughts is not sinning, it only becomes sin when we act on what we think. We must learn from Job, never to sin with our lips but to make decision to choose God no matter what happens. Praise God!
