Thursday, December 15th, 2005

Hmmm…. 9 more days to christmas… how exciting?? Finished your christmas shopping yet? If not, there are plenty of late night shopping available at many shopping centres. Poor sales people… so much OT to do..

Well, besides all the shopping, singing of carols and all the christmas lights, we must go back to the meaning of christmas and it ain’t no santa claus thingy… its all about Jesus n His great birth. Is funny how so many people in the world celebrate christmas even though some of them ain’t christians but they caught the spirit of christmas: GIVING!! Everyone frantically shopping to give presents to their loved ones. However, the greatest present that has been given to mankind from the greatest giver in the world is Jesus. So christians, lets raise up to the occasion, start giving out the gospel of Jesus to your friends before u end this year. Here is 10 reasons why..

TOP 10 REASONS WHY YOU NEED TO BRING SOMEONE TO EXPO HALL 8 THIS CHRISTMAS:

10. Experiencing good, clean fun for the your family n friends with the carnival & drama etc.. way much better than the zoukout.

9. To put a stop in people’s mind that Christmas isnt about santa, is about Jesus.

8. Its more meaningful compared to spending it with tons of people in orchard road with snow sprays in their hands, trying to kill u with them.

7. You will be abiding in the word of Mat 28:18-20.

6. To fulfill a resolution you made at the beginning of the year.

5. Heard that the drama is going to be very good this year..

4. God will reward you and you will receive treasures in Heaven.

3. Because all of your friends stays in the East, no excuses for them not to come.

2. So that all your praying and fasting these past few months will not go down to waste.

1. You are creating opportunity for your friends to know Jesus and thats what is all about.

So come mon… we have 9 more days… let’s continue to invite!

Single but not alone

Friday, December 9th, 2005

Someone encouraged me to write this entry today and if you are blessed in what you are reading here, you have her to thank. :)

As you know, christmas is around the corner and for those of you who have eyes and heart, you would know that this is the best time to celebrate with your loved ones.. esp couples… you know..  the nicely wrapped up christmas presents, dimmed lights everywhere, nice romantic christmas songs, dinner etc.. and then, there you are, with your face pressed against the window, wondering when is it ever going to happen for you.

As a single person myself, i am proud to say that although i am single but yet i live a very happy person. Some may say" yeah, sure… she is just being proud… is impossible…etc etc" But what i can tell u is that yes, you can be proud to be single. I know that society and i mean our parents always want us to get married(which maybe a nicer way to say "quit living off me") So we get pressurised, desperate, then later depressed for what seem to be difficult to achieve in our lives.

Just want to encourage you with this story of a revelation that God showed me about relationships.

Scene: God and you are in a very huge apple orchard where thousands of trees are planted with apples. So God said to you "Go pick for yourself the nicest apple out of the orchard and bring it back here to me" So you went off around looking for the best looking, the most delicious looking apple. Then you saw one apple, looking all red and juicy but when u took a bite out of it, worms began to unfold out of the apple. Then u went and pick another apple, looks nice on the outside and no worms on the inside, but when u took a bite of it, it ain’t a sweet apple. So you continued picking but yet each apple u picked, they were either rotten or unriped yet. Depressed and tired, you decided to give up to go back and look for God. God smiled at you and said… "You can continue to look for what you think is the best apple for you but the true is that out of this orchard, i have already picked the best apple for you." So God reached out from His back and handed you the best apple that He had picked out for you and indeed it was the best apple.

Moral of the story: Don’t go out searching for something that God has already prepared for you. You can save yourself from the disappointment of what you think is right for you. Don’t be sad if it is not happening for you yet, God knows what is the best for you. Even if He doesn’t have an apple for you, live in the peace that He is already there for you. I know that i am satisfied as a single because of who God is in my life. So there is nothing to be ashamed now if you are single, Jesus never did get married and you don’t see Him whining abt not having the apple in His life. So you singles out there, you can be single n alone but you will never have to feel lonely ultimately because Jesus is the ONE for you.
