I lift my hands to praise You for all the good things you have placed in my life..

Thursday, July 28th, 2005

Oh boy oh boy, is friday again!! Is time to thank the Lord!! I realised that for the past 2-3 weeks, ever since i started the weekly entry of testimonials, i have been blessed again and again and again. So… it is GOOD to share the goodness and give thanks to Him. It makes Him look good and makes us happy.

Meanwhile, a revelation about thanksgiving i like to share. Think is due to the fact people around me are always complaining to me how pathetic they are and how no one cares about them etc etc.. Well, i believe that there is one area in the fruits of the spirit that is the spirit of joy. We must learn to be thankful to things and people around us but most importantly, God who is a good God to us. People often look at what they don’t have and get depressed but they don’t look at what they have currently have and give thanks to God.

What can you give thanks to God for today? Many things!! Good health, sufficiency, family members that are still around, sun and rain.. can’t list them or else you guys fall asleep. Don’t look at what u don’t have anymore, look at what u have and see the goodness of God in your life. Never take the goodness of God for granted. Ok, i am ready to be blessed again..

TOP 10 THINGS THAT I THANK GOD FOR THIS WEEK:-

10. I thank God for the chance to eat sushi not once but twice this week.

9. I thank God for inspiration to write creative blogs.

8. I thank God someone blessed me with facial mask. Must be frightened by my eye bags or something.

7. I thank God for the joy that was set before me. Don’t know why but i feel very high and happy for the whole week.

6. I thank God that i lost 1 kg even though i had 2 big dinner meals this week. Hoho.. funny but true

5. I thank God for the opportunity to play guitar for cgm once again. Woohoo

4. I thank God that i still have leftover $ to save cos i think i really overspend this month. Phew…

3. I thank God my hair colour has changed into a more decent colour. Is a mix of blond, grey n brown decent?

2. I thank God for the opportunity to talk to this ex-member of mine after months of trying to reach her.

1. I thank God for all the good things He has placed in my life and that in every bad situation, He will always provide a way out. God is good…He is good!!

Whats your love language to God??

Tuesday, July 26th, 2005

Today is me brother b-day, just want to say "HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRO!!" All thanks to you, we can all enjoy a sumptuous dinner tonight.. woohoo.. ANyway, me brother and i bond alot when we were younger because he had no male siblings to play with so i would play with him things such as football, basketball and build blocks with him. Guess he was the one who made me athletic.. haha..  Anyway, good brother to me, got good sense of taste, good hearted and most of all good-looking.. too bad.. he is already attached..

*************************************************************************************************

ANyway, today i want to talk about our love language. You know the 5 love languages: Quality time, Acts of service, Physical touch, Words of affirmation and Receiving gifts. So do you know which one is your love language? Mine is always and forever will be receiving WORDS OF AFFIRMATION, the rest is almost 0% esp physical touch.. haha.. But what i like to give to others as a love language is by GIVING GIFTS to them. Yeah, is 2 different things. However, have you wondered if our love language towards God is the same as how we treat people around us?

We sing and talk about how much we love God but how are you expressing your love towards God? For e.g My love language to others is giving gifts and i find myself having no problem in giving generously in the offerings, always picking the biggest note in my wallet to give. Or if yours is quality time, you will always set aside time to spend time with God. Think the only thing that is impossible to give God is physical touch but other than that, i think the 4 others can.

This is just a thought in me, but if you think that it is true, do feedback but if u think is not really true, do feedback also.

And my blog will go on and on and on and on…

Last monday, as i was searching for a very old storybook of mine, i accidently got a chance upon some very old stuff that my mum kept for many many years. Some of the stuff are even older than you, yvonne.. haha… Stuff like my kindergarden report card, old passport photos etc… Yeah, i am not going to post it online cos is super cmi…anyway, my mum is just so sweet to keep them for me and my siblings so that next time, we can keep them for memory. Meanwhile, here are top 10 things that i discovered.

TOP 10 (@_@)THINGS THAT I DISCOVERED IN MY DISCOVERY:-

10. I wasn’t a happy kid being in kindergarden cos of all the grumpy-looking photos of me in the class and graduation photo.

9. I was borne at 1123am at KK hospital.

8. My grandfather’s name is Tok Hong and my grandma’s name is Tan Choon, apparently their nationality stated in my dad’s birth cert are British colonial citizens. (@_@)

7. I have a very ugly passport size photo of me which my mum thinks is ugly too cos she didn’t even use it, there is still 6 of them when i found it.

6. My dad’s signature in 1986 is different from his current signature now in 2005.

5. Apparently, i discovered a photo of my dad in his late twenties which somehow bears a striking resemblance of my elder sister. (@_@)

4. My mum commented that i drag to take photos when i was young so that explains why most of my photos have faces of me were taken side-ways.

3. I didn’t make good grades in kindergarden, looking at my report card… C grade for reading and singing and B for personal hygiene… what the… Sigh..

2. But i obtained A for chinese but my chinese language now is super cannot make it…

1. All ugly photos of me are hidden with my mum, thinks she just doesn’t want me to see them cos it may lead to low self-esteem or depression. Unfortunately, i somehow did.. sad case for me… Sob…

Get married if you don’t mind bulging tummy

I was eating dinner with my folks last saturday and while seeing them eating crab togehter, God showed me a sight that i have never seen about my parents before and that is their committment towards each other. My parents aint Christians YET but to be able to stick together after 29 years, it ain’t easy i must say, I myself can’t even keep a friend for more than 2 years.

29 years is a long time to be together with someone and thats why marriage is an important thing, u better choose someone u love enough so that the marriage can last. There are also many factors that can change after marriage such as the belly of ur husband gets bigger, or ur wife has lost her hour-shaped figure and still love him/her in spite of that. Truth is many marriages in Singapore ended up in divorces because people are not willing to be committed to their spouses due to either husband with balding hair or wives that don’t look like Fiona Xie.

I am so proud of my parents cos though both of them ain’t christians but they show me what is like to be committed to someone. Both of them ain’t perfect cos they bicker occasionally, complain to me abt each other about their snoring problems but at the end of the day, they still fight problems together and still go out with each other every weekend eating what they love. I think that is what marriage is about, sticking together for life and not give up on each other when things don’t go well. Here are some things that i listed that u should not give up even if it happens in your marriage.

TOP 10 CHANGES THAT HAPPENS AFTER MARRIAGE:-

10. What used to be 6 pacts became 1 huge mountain and what used to be hour-shaped became bottled-shape.

9. Ladies stop growing long hair and guys stop growing hair.

8. Man stopped talking and hides behind newspapers while woman talks non-stop and takes away the newspaper from the man to clean the toilet mirror.

7. Time spend on talking to each other daily: Before marriage: 3 Hours After marriage: 3 mins

6. Apparently a competition every night to see who can snore the loudest.

5. Things start to become more transparent when both of u show each other your disgusting sight. (Can be many things)

4. Time spend together can be awfully quiet at times…

3. Over time, both of you need to scream sweet nothings into each other’s ears.

2. Husband forgets about important dates such as wedding anniversaries and wives continues to hope that they will remember.

1. Look into the mirror, u’ll see the difference.

You deserve the highest praise!

Just to let you guys know that i am going to write my blog in alternate days cos i feel embarassed that people have to clear their whole chunk of emails that says "Jane has updated her friendster blog". So instead of having to clear the thousands of emails, u can now just clear about half a thousand mails. Good deal eh?

**************************************************************************************************

Meanwhile, when i was on my way to work today, i happen to see alot of people driving Mercedes-benz near my neighbourhood, it was as though Mercedes was some common car, like Toyaota to drive. If you were to drive around in SG for a day, you will see at least 10 or more Mercedes on the road. Mind you, Mercedes ain’t cheap to buy, it costs at least a 6 figure amount to buy it. Ironically, Singaporeans are still able to buy it. I even happened to see 2 Ferraris’ driven around my neighbourhood and even more in town but too bad, driven by uncles.

What is my conclusion? Singaporeans are getting richer. As a matter of fact, it states at the bloomberg news that Singapore millionaires increased by 22.4%, the fastest pace in the world today. According to the numbers, it is about 48,500 millionaires in Singapore. Thats why everywhere you see people driving Mercedes, there are 48,500 millionaires!! Thats why i think Mercedes are so common that there are even Mercedes cabs around. I already sat in one of them a couple of times in my life and i believe some of you also.

Like what Pst Kong had said, if there are so many millionaires out there, why can’t one of them be us? God has placed different abilities in us and i believe one of them is able to be fruitful with what we do with our money. Lets be good stewards of money and if possible, do the best in our jobs and desire to have prosperous bank account. ($_$) Not asking you to be money-face but to always desire the best in things because God always gives the best, wants the best and always the best. So anyone desire to be a millionaire?
