Spiritual work ethic
Tuesday, May 31st, 2005After doing some calculations, i realised that approx. 25% of my time is spend working, about 34% of my time sleeping and the rest of the 41% on personal pleasure. Yup, that seems to be right. ANyway, i have decided to give away a certain amount of my 41% to the Kingdom of God once i get into ministry.
Pastor Kong preached a great message last sunday which made me think alot. Indeed we should really make sure of our time during our work, not just to earn $ but to be a impact to those people that we see almost 1/3 of our day. It also made me reflect on my work attitudes and to be a spirit of excellence even on the simplest task given. Many of us have no problem providing great service to our ministry but when it comes to the things of the world, our minds suddenly went blank and slow. No reason and explaination. Maybe is because we hate what we do and do what we hate. So just a tiny advice, choose a job that you love and you will never have to work a day in your life. Here top 10 suggestions…
TOP 10 WAYS TO BE HAPPY AT WORK:-
10. Decor your desk with lovely stuff toys and nice meaningful pictures. A great way to start your day seeing things that you love.
9. Make a decision and tell yourself that this day will be awesome and is not because it is a friday.
8. Start your day with an aim and finish it before your day ends. You will feel more fulfilling.
7. Be like the psychotic penguins in Madagascar, turn to your collegues and tell yourself: "Smile and wave **Your Name**, Smile and wave…"
6. Eat MacDonald’s big breakfast.
5. Listening to music. Hearing melody tunes all day helps to lighten mood and relief stress.
4. MSNing.. (Don’t tell me you don’t do that) Is not just talking nonsense to your friends but a means to encourage, strengthen and inspire each other to do better.
3. Choosing to do and learn something new everyday. People are bored with work because they have stopped learning.
2. Slap yourself in the face and say "Stop giving excuses!!! Show me results!!" (adopted once again by Psycotic Penguins)
1. Say a little prayer to God, asking Him for wisdom and strength before you start work. It works because our God is faithful.
